1. One trial involved a double blind, placebo controlled study to examine the effects of the food supplement Vivida (Nourella) on sun-damaged skin in females. 3. In a third study, 15 women aged between 40-60 and with sun-damaged skin were treated with special natural cartilage polysaccharides (Nourella) orally for a period of 3 months. The results were as follows:
Average Epidermal Thickness: Increased from 0.11 to 0.29mm
Average Dermal Thickness: Increased from 0.74 to 1.39mm
Average Elasticity: Increased from 44% to 73%
Erythemal Index (measure of UV Radiation): Decreased from 0.301 to 0.205
It was also noted after the 90 days, that skin mottles (spots/blotches) had decreased within the treatment group and skin dryness and brittle hair and nails had been completely cured for the subjects.
4. In a fourth study, the effect of Nourella cream was tested in the treatment of sun-damaged or age-damaged facial skin. 30 women aged between 40-60 applied the cream twice daily for 90 days. For all subjects in this group, at the end of the treatment, all shallow wrinkles were no longer apparent and only 3 subjects had a few moderately deep wrinkles remaining. For the majority, few deep wrinkles were left. Other results were as follows:
